All applicants must pay an R120.00 non-refundable application fee (for online applications). Please deposit using the following bank information, and upload the deposit slip along with the rest of the necessary paperwork.

Tuition Fees payable to the Institution
At the time of registering, students undertake to pay all fees due on time and in terms of the
rules of the University. Students are advised to familiarize themselves with the Fees Payable

Minimum Initial Payment (MIP)
Before any student is permitted to register at the University, the University requires such a
student to pay a Minimum Initial Payment (MIP) of R3500.00 prior to registration. This
amount will be credited to the student’s account.

Students applying for a place in the University residence are required to pay an additional
R1500.00 towards residence fees for the year. This amount is payable before the 31st of
December 2022 in order to secure a place in residence.

Should a student not be allocated a place in residence, this amount will be allocated to tuition
fees or refunded to the student, should he/she not register.

Bursary/Student Loans/NSFAS
All students who have been allocated a student bursary/NSFAS loan must produce a copy of
the Bursar’s letter to the Student Fees Section prior to registration to clear the relevant
account and enable registration.

VERY IMPORTANTLY
- Please ensure that you apply for your funding through NSFAS before their
closing date. - The University of Fort Hare does not administer NSFAS applications
Students with outstanding balances on their fee accounts:
- will not be permitted to re-register;
- will not receive examination results;
- will not be allowed into residences;
- will be charged interest on outstanding accounts; and
- will be handed over to a debt collection agency for collection.
