Job Summary:
carries out a range of tasks to assist lab findings delivery, distribution, and testing. carries out a range of lab tasks, such as capillary puncture, phlebotomy, and other processes for specimen collecting.
Significant Duties:

Shows excellence and efficacy in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with clients, coworkers, medical professionals, and upper management. Assures the safety of the patient during the planning and delivery of care related to, but not limited to, drugs, procedures, infection prevention, and fall prevention, including the consistent use of two patient identification and procedural timeouts. swiftly notifies authorities of safety risks, mishaps, and harmful working circumstances.
demonstrates respect and professionalism when greeting, educating, and communicating with each patient.
conveys the directions for patient collecting clearly.
Knowledge of the procedures for collecting specimens is demonstrated. proficient in using a variety of software applications and computer systems, as needed, in accordance with business and departmental procedures.
completes the necessary laboratory orientation, training, competences, and ongoing education with success and per the given requirements.
adheres to the prescribed processes for labeling, collecting, and identifying samples from patients.
takes in and handles samples that are delivered by patients and other departments.
Determine the integrity of the specimens, then prepare, package, and make arrangements for delivery as necessary. Racking, making work lists, and loading instruments are all steps in the processing of specimens.
performs equipment maintenance and is in charge of starting and stopping the unit as needed.
demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when responding to and assisting with normal phone questions. has pleasant customer interactions and strong customer service abilities. shows proficiency in service recovery.
carries himself/herself in a way that is consistent with the Bedrock Cultural Elements and the Labor Management Partnership's guiding principles.
performs laboratory tests of mild & moderate complexity in accordance with standard operating procedures. enters lab results for testing that is waived or of moderate difficulty into the computer system.
informs clinical professionals of outcomes and records them, including alert values.
does other tasks as directed.

A minimum of six (6) months of concentrated phlebotomy experience within the three (3) years may be substituted for the phlebotomy training program.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program and successful completion of a phlebotomy externship of at least 80 hours within a four-week period within the last year, Or completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program and two (2) years of previous concentrated phlebotomy experience, Or completion of a Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy training and a minimum of six (6) months of concentrated phlebotomy experience within the past three (3) years.
- Medical Lab Assistant Certification within 12 months of hire
- Routine pager, on-call duties are required.
- Has positive customer interactions and demonstrates good service recovery skills.
- Provides excellent customer service skills.
