NWU Banking Details, The North-West University has various bank accounts and it is of the utmost importance that you use the correct bank account for the purpose for which you want to make the deposit.
A direct bank deposit or electronic payment can be made into any of the North-West University’s bank accounts as listed below and only the 8-digit university number will be accepted as a reference, please use the letter A for Application Fees & Residence Deposits.

How to Apply online to NWU
You can apply to the North-West University (NWU) by following these steps:
- Visit the NWU website: Go to the NWU website (www.nwu.ac.za) and select “Apply to NWU” from the top menu.
- Create an account: If you are a new applicant, click on “New Application” and create an account by providing your personal details and creating a password.
- Select the program: Select the program you wish to apply for and read the admission requirements and application closing dates.
- Fill in the application form: Fill in the online application form by providing your personal details, academic qualifications, and supporting documents. Make sure that you provide accurate and up-to-date information.
- All Non-South African citizens must choose their country of birth when creating a student number. Do not choose South Africa in the Nationality tab, choose the correct Nationality for International and Non-South African citizens.
- Your new student number will be sent to you via e-mail and the cellphone number you added when creating the student number.
- After creating the student number you will be directed to the application page to start the process of applying at the NWU
- Fill in all the mandatory fields and click the “NEXT” button.
- Enter your school subject information
- After choosing all your subjects, type in the percentage obtained for each subject, and after that click “NEXT”
- Choose your course of study. You will also be able to choose to start your studies in the second semester if the application is on time and the option is still available
- Enter all your biographical information. Fill in all the mandatory fields as requested
- Enter your contact details. Make the correct choice when choosing to grant permission to disclose your personal information.
- Pay the application fee: Pay the application fee online using a credit card, debit card, or electronic funds transfer (EFT). The application fee is non-refundable.
- Submit your application: Once you have completed the application form and paid the application fee, submit your application online. You will receive a confirmation email with your application number.
- Check your application status: You can check your application status online by logging in to your account.
