you are interested in applying to Rhodes University, you will need to pay an application fee. Fortunately, paying the application fee is a simple process that can be completed online.
The closing date for applications from all new students for admission to the University is 30 September. This is also the official deadline for foreign applicants.
Initial applications for admission must be accompanied by a non refundable application fee of R100 for all applicants. Late applications will be considered.
Pay the application fee: Once you have selected your program, you will be directed to a payment page where you can pay your application fee. You will be prompted to enter your payment details, such as your credit card number and expiry date.
No applications from foreign students can be considered after 30 September.
Tuition Fees (estimate)
R36 050 to R65 075 (this varies from degree to degree) Allow approximately R6 050 for books and stationery.

Residence Fees
R68 987 to R72 428 (this includes all meals but excludes vacations) The residence fees also depend on the grade of accommodation chosen.
Acceptance Fees
Tuition Acceptance Fee
This deposit is payable on acceptance of an academic place at the University. Fee payable for 2023 is R800.
This deposit must be paid by a date specified in the letter of acceptance.
The deposit is non-refundable and will be forfeited should the student choose not to register at the University.
Residence Acceptance Fee
On acceptance of a place at the University, a R1 000.00 residence deposit must be made before a student is allocated to residence
This deposit is non-refundable and will be forfeited to the University should the student fail to register and into residence for at least one term
All students, postgraduate and undergraduate, or their parents or guardians, must notify the registrar in writing of their desire to stop attending. Any money that is owed must be refunded, and the Director of Finance must be contacted separately for this.
Any student who has registered for a course of study and withdraws from it during the academic year is responsible for paying tuition and/or residential fees up to the date of cancellation at a prorated rate based on the number of calendar days remaining in the academic year (248).
Before registering, any student who withdraws their application for tuition or housing will be charged a cancellation fee of 2.5% or 10%, depending on how much notice is given.
A cancellation fee equal to two months' worth of residence fees will be assessed in the event of an early withdrawal from residence for any cause other than an immediate family member's death, a serious medical condition, or academic exclusion. If a reservation for a provisional dwelling is canceled before the Initial Fee (IF) deadline of January 18, 2019, no penalty will be assessed.
