Social grants can be collected at the Overstrand Thusong Service Center in Hawston between 8:00 and 14:00 on the following dates:
- February 13 – Disability Grant
- February 15 – All other Grants
- February 17 – All other Grants
Disability grants can also be collected from other halls in Overstrand during February and March from 8:00 to 14:00 as follows:
- February 6 – Disability Grant: Moffat Hall in Mt Pleasant, Overstrand Thusong Centre in Hawston, and Kleinmond Proteadorp Community Hall
- February 27 – Disability Grant: Stanford Community Hall, Gansbaai Blompark Community Hall
- March 13 – Disability Grant: Mt Pleasant Moffat Hall and Gansbaai Blompark Community Hall
- March 27 – Disability Grant: Mt Pleasant Moffat Hall, Kleinmond Proteadorp Community Hall
Note that:
- Older Persons’ Grants will be paid from February 3.
- Disability Grants will start being paid on February 4.
- Other grants will be distributed from February 5.
- No new grants will be awarded under the SASSA R350 program in February.
If you have applied for multiple awards for older person or disability benefits and are successful, you will receive both payments on February 3 or February 4.
SASSA has confirmed that the SASSA-SAPO Card will expire on March 31, despite false claims circulating on social media. Customers who are paid through SAPO are not required to switch to another payment option, but they are free to do so if they wish. After April, they will still be paid on their present SASSA-SAPO card, but the cards must be changed eventually, although no timeframe has been specified. More details on the new card will be released to the public in due course.
