The application process involves completing an application form and providing the necessary documentation, such as proof of income and identity documents. SASSA staff will then assess the application and make a decision on whether the applicant is eligible for the grant.
- SASSA also continued to roll out new technology to improve the efficiency of its service delivery. This includes the use of biometric technology to verify the identity of applicants and beneficiaries, as well as the introduction of a new online application system for social grants.
- Despite these efforts, SASSA has faced challenges in ensuring that social grants are distributed effectively and efficiently to those who need them most. This includes issues with long queues at SASSA offices, delays in the payment of grants, and fraudulent activity related to social grants.
- To address these challenges, SASSA has continued to work with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to improve its service delivery and ensure that social grants reach their intended beneficiaries.
