The South African government provides various types of social grants to its residents who are unable to support themselves financially, and these grants are distributed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) every month. Over 16 million South African residents receive these grants each month.

Below are the payment dates for the different types of grants for the months of March 2023 to February 2024:

• March 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on March 2, Disability Grant and related grants on March 3, and all other grants (Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant, War Veterans Grant) on March 6.
• April 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on April 4, Disability Grant and related grants on April 5, and all other grants on April 6.
• May 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on May 3, Disability Grant and related grants on May 4, and all other grants on May 5.
• June 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on June 2, Disability Grant and related grants on June 5, and all other grants on June 6.
• July 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on July 4, Disability Grant and related grants on July 5, and all other grants on July 6.
• August 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on August 2, Disability Grant and related grants on August 3, and all other grants on August 4.
• September 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on September 5, Disability Grant and related grants on September 6, and all other grants on September 7.
• October 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on October 3, Disability Grant and related grants on October 4, and all other grants on October 5.
• November 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on November 2, Disability Grant and related grants on November 3, and all other grants on November 6.
• December 2023: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on December 1, Disability Grant and related grants on December 4, and all other grants on December 5.
• January 2024: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on January 3, Disability Grant and related grants on January 4, and all other grants on January 5.
• February 2024: Older Persons Grant and related grants are paid on February 1, Disability Grant and related grants on February 2, and all other grants on February 5. The payment for the SRD grant is made upon approval of the application.
