The University of Limpopo, also known as UL, offers a variety of accommodation options for its students. These options include on-campus residences and off-campus accommodations.

On-Campus Residences: UL has six on-campus residences, which can accommodate approximately 3,500 students. These residences are:

1. Mankweng Campus Residences: These residences are located on the main campus and can accommodate approximately 2,500 students.
2. Turfloop Campus Residences: These residences are located on the Turfloop campus and can accommodate approximately 1,000 students.

Turfloop Campus Residences caters all levels of students from first year to postgraduate level.  Senior students have been accommodated in single rooms whilst our junior students share a double room. Each room comes equipped with a bed, a desk and chair, bookshelves, and a wardrobe.

Most rooms share a common bathroom on each floor.  A wired and wireless internet access facility is also available in our halls of residence.

The Postgraduate villages consist of family units where students share a kitchen, bathroom, and dining rooms.  This setup caters to Honours and Masters students.

Post Graduate Village – Masters and doctorate students only.

Post Graduate Residences – Mainly Honors Students

High Rise Residencies – Undergraduate and completing students (those in their final year).

Plattelands – For physically challenged students, postgraduate students, and student governance members.

Prefabricated Residences – First entering students.

Both Mankweng and Turfloop residences offer single, double, and triple rooms, and some residences also have flats. The residences are furnished with basic amenities such as beds, desks, chairs, and wardrobes. Each residence has communal kitchens, laundry facilities, and common areas for socializing and studying.

Off-Campus Accommodation: UL also has off-campus accommodation options available for students who prefer to live off-campus. The university has a list of accredited off-campus accommodation providers, and students can choose from a variety of options such as apartments, flats, and houses. The off-campus accommodation is located in the nearby areas of Mankweng and Polokwane.

When applying for accommodation, students are required to complete an application form and provide proof of registration at UL. The cost of accommodation varies depending on the type of accommodation chosen.

Overall, UL provides a variety of accommodation options for its students, both on and off-campus, to ensure that they have a safe and comfortable living environment while pursuing their studies.
