The University of South Africa (UNISA) requires applicants to pay an application fee when applying for admission. The application fee is a non-refundable fee that covers the administrative costs of processing the application.
- R125 for online applications
- Use the student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee reference number (ie YOUR STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030)
- Send the proof of payment to susdepid@unisa.ac.za

This fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available. Unisa does not accept cash at any of its offices.
The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of payment.
The application fee for undergraduate qualifications is R110 for South African applicants and R170 for international applicants. The application fee for postgraduate qualifications is R220 for South African applicants and R470 for international applicants.
It is important to note that the application fee is subject to change, so it is recommended that prospective students check the UNISA website for the most up-to-date information on application fees.
UNISA also offers an online payment system that applicants can use to pay their application fee. Applicants can pay the fee using a credit card or via electronic funds transfer (EFT). It is important to keep proof of payment, as it may be required during the application process.
UNISA may also offer financial assistance to students who are unable to pay the application fee. Prospective students can contact UNISA's Student Fees department for more information on financial assistance options.
