Job Summary:
Manages all elements of Pharmacy services in a designated Outpatient Pharmacy location, working under the guidance of the Outpatient Pharmacy Operations Manager or Outpatient Pharmacy Director (s). Ensures adherence to Statewide Pharmacy Operations objectives, policies, and procedures, as well as federal and state laws and regulations. accountable for the daily management of the designated work area(s), function(s), or service (s). Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor – Hourly, pharmacist, and non-pharmacist staff under their supervision and instruction. administers a pharmacy (s). carries out all subordinates' tasks and any other necessary tasks.
Significant Duties:
aids in the creation and execution of pharmacy strategic initiatives under the direction of the outpatient pharmacy operations manager or director.
By supervising and directing pharmacy services, activities, and functions like drug distribution, drug education, pharmacist clinical activities, retail business expansion, performance measurements, regulatory compliance, employee development, and multidisciplinary team development, the outpatient pharmacy operations manager or outpatient pharmacy director is assisted.
Manages departmental personnel and operational procedures to assure adherence to federal, state, TJC, OSHA, SBOP, and departmental, state, and federal rules and regulations.
In order to offer continuity of treatment and compliance with applicable Federal and State rules and regulations regulating hospitals, collaborates with the Inpatient Pharmacy Management and Medical Group divisions. Pharmacy staff, other pharmacy management team members, providers, department administrators, and the physicians in charge are all included in the sphere of influence.
provides people management services, such as hiring, training, evaluating, and/or firing hourly-paid employees who report to you. completes/administrates performance reviews, making sure they are completed in accordance with the department's schedule. oversees/develops procedures to guarantee that the department complies with HR compliance requirements for assessments. assists Human Resources in resolving employee complaints. responsible for creating and assigning work schedules and tasks to department workers. prepares the biweekly payroll and/or approves it. provides the staff with regular communication and feedback. helps the outpatient pharmacy operations manager or outpatient pharmacy director keep track of how many people are being used while adhering to the department's personnel justification process.
Together with the outpatient pharmacy director and/or outpatient pharmacy operations manager, develops the departmental budget. On the departmental budget, you might deal with local finance. accountable for achieving all pharmacy financial performance goals.
takes part in developing, putting into practice, and assessing systems, procedures, and techniques aimed at enhancing quality, service, and cost-effectiveness.
accountable for all departmental service measures.
Work with providers, department heads, and the outpatient pharmacy director to implement, assess, and enhance quality management programs. Assist the outpatient pharmacy operations manager or outpatient pharmacy director in this endeavor.
resolves service grievances brought forth by Health Plan members, other Kaiser medical professionals, department heads, and staff.
daily administration of organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
performs all subordinate employees' responsibilities as well as additional tasks as needed.
Regular position compensation reviews are done at Kaiser Permanente.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to demonstrate and apply knowledge of contemporary outpatient pharmacy operations principles and standards, including clinical, professional, legal, business, and public relations aspects.

Must have a working knowledge of applicable Federal and State pharmacy regulations.

Ability to extract pertinent information from patients, or other sources, to apply to the patient's medical management plan.

Demonstrated abilities and skills in pharmacy business management, customer problem resolution, leadership, and supervision.

Must possess self-initiative, innovative, and collaborative skills.

Ability to demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English-speaking communication skills.

Proficiency in various databases and other computer usages.

Must pass a background check.

Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Pharm. D preferred.

Previous experience or courses completed, in pharmacy business management or related subjects preferred.
