Essential Responsibilities:
gathering of certain patient health-related data. determines the client's visit's objective, their issues, and their physical and educational needs. examines and notes the vital signs of the client. information that is relevant to the medical file of the patient. Determines when a situation is urgent or emergency and promptly directs it to a doctor or nurse. collaborates with other members of the medical team to design the nursing care plan. contributes relevant data to the nursing plan of care and communicates it to the proper professional provider. executes the nursing plan of care in accordance with the requirements of the position and the team in a safe and thorough manner. accurately and properly records information.
communicates in every interaction with care and individuality. takes part in arranging and facilitating the patient's care. Effectively collaborates and interacts with other team members to complete the job. Identifies and communicates plainly apparent psychological, cultural, and/or emotional needs. confirms that the patient is aware of the visit's goal. explains and orients patients, their families, and other important people to the members of the healthcare team, the resources they can access, and how to do so. takes part in KFHPW's policy and procedure orientation for new customers. shows understanding of the Bill of Rights and Responsibilities for Consumers.
Gives instructions to the patient's family and other important people in accordance with the educational plan that the professional provider has developed. delivering teaching in accordance with student needs and the nursing plan of care. promotes patient adherence to treatment and medical regimens. Provides the patient with preventive care information that is appropriate for his or her age, sex, and health state, as directed by the professional provider. uses the resources for health education that are at hand. To improve the patient's general health status, reinforce the strategy with them.
accurately records a few procedures and observations on the patient's history. follows KFHPW documentation guidelines. offers a secure, confidential, and comfortable atmosphere for each patient. gives each patient a safe environment and complies with KFHPW safety regulations. follows the KFHPW's guidelines for infection management.
shows accountability and responsibility for the practice, ongoing improvement, and self-evaluation. owns up to their educational requirements and takes part in initiatives to satisfy them. takes part in student instruction and staff orientation events. participates in the completion of the self- and colleague/team performance evaluation process with managers. consistently exhibits an appearance that adheres to the KFHPW dress code.

Basic Qualifications:

Education
- High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program prior to starting date/transfer or equivalent Military experience with the ability to obtain MA-I prior to start date.
License, Certification, Registration
- Basic Life Support required at hire
- Interim Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire OR Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire
Additional Requirements:
- If hired as MA-I, one must obtain MA-C prior to the expiration of the MA-I credential.
- Knowledge and skills listed on the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Medical Assistant Competencies/Skills Inventory.
