Assist in determining the neurological state of adults and children by providing diagnostic examinations of the auditory and vestibular systems. Give advice, guidance, and suggestions on the rehabilitation of patients with hearing impairment. Ascertain if patients who have severe hearing loss qualify for cochlear implant surgery. upholds the policies, procedures, and guiding principles of Kaiser Permanente as well as any relevant local, state, and federal laws.

Significant Duties:

the choice, execution, and interpretation of diagnostic test results for the following populations: children and seniors, vestibular function, and facial nerve integrity.

Patient counseling and future treatment strategies are discussed.

offers inpatient, ICU, NICU, and surgical patients mobile diagnostic services.

performs hearing aid evaluations, assessments, and referrals.

maintains thorough and accurate records in the patient's medical chart and departmental files.

performs routine equipment maintenance, biological calibrations, and equipment requests for repairs.

teaches a monthly class for patient education.

Helps families place hearing-impaired children in the right educational environment.

serves as a resource for doctors, paraprofessionals, and patients for hearing health diagnostics and care for hearing and vestibular assessment (and rehabilitation).

maintains a high level of professionalism.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • N/A
Education
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Audiology required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Current California Audiologist license required prior to the first day of employment.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association required prior to the first day of employment.
  • National Provider Identifier Number required prior to the first day of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience as an Audiologist preferred
