Job Summary:

Performing low-level maintenance, regular safety, and security checks, and cleaning areas and surfaces with approved disinfectants, equipment, and supplies will help to ensure a quality environment for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington employees, patients, and visitors.

Significant Duties:

uses the proper cleaning agents and the 7-step cleaning process to the clean patient, staff, and public areas:

a) All flat surfaces over 6 feet high with high dust. Using a ladder or a high dusting instrument as necessary.

b) Remove all trash from the containers, wipe the interior and outside with a germicidal solution, reline the containers, and replace the sharps containers as necessary.

c) Damp wipe/spot clean all surfaces, furniture that is shorter than 6 feet, and, as necessary, walls and partitions.

d) Dry mop all floors, making sure to get under and behind every piece of furniture.

e) Cleaning the bathroom, including wiping down the counters, cabinets, sink, shower, and toilet.

f) Damp mop the entire area, being sure to get behind and under any furniture.

g) Check the area to make sure all the processes have been carried out and it appears tidy and clean.

h) uses the 4-step cleaning process to disinfect hallways and public spaces,

  1. starting with a dry mop:
  2.  A wet mop. Spray buff.
  3. A dry rag. Moving furniture and other items makes it easier to clean
  4. rearrange, and set up meeting rooms.

i) safely use cleaning tools driven by electricity and batteries, including vacuums, buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and extractors. transports rubbish and debris in a well-protected manner to be removed. completion of projects such as bonnet boffing, carpet extraction, and floor scrubbing/stripping and refinishing. cleaning radiators, lights, vents, and wheelchairs as well as removing upholstery. When full, seal and remove sharp containers.

j) Carts of clean or dirty linen should be moved with care to and from patient areas. Cleaning after discharge/transferwears safety-related protective clothing, such as gloves, gowns, and goggles. serves as a valuable contributor on an environmental services team. regularly monitors the interior regions of the building and takes the necessary measures to stop violations of KFHPW safety and security standards. Lock doors and activate alarms as needed. Clean the sidewalks outside the doors that lead to them. As required, do snow-clearing tasks. a PA system. time adjustment Small phone repair. Replace the lamp. Initial examination of nurse call systems. swap out the pillow speaker. Checks of the outlets. Cleaning an induction unit. thermostat setting. cleaning and treating the drains. Aerator repair and toilet cleaning.

k) Simple maintenance like disconnecting sinks and toilets understanding of chemical dilutions and use. Receptacles for medical waste should be removed, labeled, and stored per protocol. Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of custodial experience in an outpatient setting.
