JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, maintains assigned spaces in a clean, orderly, hygienic, and safe condition as well as carries out a variety of environmental service tasks inside and outside the medical center.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains KP's policies and procedures, the principles of responsibilities, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Cleans furniture, beds, surgical areas, storage places, and other items.
- Cleans spills and flooded areas; deep cleans sanitizes, and disinfects rooms, mattresses, vents, and bathrooms; operates electrical cleaning equipment; vacuums carpeted spaces.
- Waters down cleaning agents
- Gathers and discards garbage, including biohazardous medical waste, in accordance with policies and procedures, and makes sure that biohazardous waste is locked up and stored in designated areas.
- Coordinates cleaning tasks with other departments
- May take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Pay Level 04
Basic requirements include the following
• High school diploma or GED desirable
• Skills to communicate and follow instructions in English
• Moderate to heavy lifting ability necessary
• One (1) year of experience in the environmental services department in an acute care setting is needed.
- Experience with floor maintenance is preferred.
Notes:
This position may involve working on floorcare projects, special projects, and cleaning responsibilities as needed. Working days may vary within the designated shift.
California, Los Angeles, and West Los Angeles Medical Center is the location principle.
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 24
Hours: Evening
Workdays: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Working Schedule begins: 7:00 PM
The workday ends at 3:30 AM
Time commitment: Part-time
