Responsible for managing a broad variety of training and development activities for instructor-led and online training and development programs. performs needs analyses, develops curriculums and instructional strategies, delivers training, assesses the success of training initiatives, and provides consultation on a wide range of learning and development concerns. provides recommendations for acceptable educational technologies, such as web-based and e-learning programs.

 

Essential Purposes

Conducts comprehensive needs analyses for people and teams and may offer ongoing analysis of learning programs for a wide range of professions.

• Complex course curricula and associated content and materials are designed and developed as part of instructional design and development. In support of a designated functional area, the creation of curricula or programs by other learning consultants may be supervised. Other learning consultants may assess and determine what changes to make to current Training programs or curricula.

• Providing professional-level programs for management and staff as well as delivering training.

• Program evaluation: Determines whether complex training programs are effective and produce the expected results. It then uses input to make necessary adjustments.

• The aforementioned categories could be implemented in an online learning setting. A general foundation in learning and development may also be necessary to support a learning systems business.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in learning, instructional design, instructional delivery, instructional technology, or

e-learning applications required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in human resources, training, e-learning, training/learning technology, education, or a related field

OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field is required.

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

• N/A.

 

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of business operations, management practices and principles, and human resources management trends and practices.

• Thorough knowledge of policies, practices, and systems.

• Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

• Full knowledge of industry practices.

• Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus a working knowledge of other related fields.

• Proficient in use of: word processing, spreadsheets & scheduling software.

• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum twelve (12) years of progressive experience in learning, instructional design, instructional delivery, instructional technology, or e-learning applications preferred.

• Health care experience preferred.

• Master's degree with an emphasis in human resources, training, e-learning, training/learning technology, education, or a related field OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field preferred.
