Description:
A neurodiagnostic technologist works with little supervision and performs all the duties of an EEG technician (36766), in addition to doing specific procedure EEGs and monitoring additional physiological phenomena. These methods include Intra-Operative EEG monitoring, Visual Evoked Responses, Nerve Conduction Studies, and others. may train medical professionals and EEG technologists.

Essential Responsibilities:

Maintains compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws as well as the policies and procedures of Kaiser Permanente.
Carries out all of an EEG technician's responsibilities.
Carries out nerve conduction tests while being supervised by a neurologist.

Neonatals, children, and adults can have their video, ambulatory, and telemetry EEGs recorded and analyzed.

Contains computer-averaged electrical responses to somatosensory, auditory, visual, or other stimuli.
Contains computer-averaged electrical responses to somatosensory, auditory, visual, or other stimuli. Determines while averaging that the recordings are of appropriate technical quality.
Determines the amplitude and delay of the proper waves.
Transcranial Doppler studies are possible.
Examine the tracing's properties in great detail to look for any indications of problems and to make any noteworthy findings.
Document as necessary in patient records

Transport equipment from the hospital's testing area to the storage area.
attends technical conferences and other educational events. serves as an instructor for junior staff, students, and other medical professionals during in-service training.
Maintaining digital EEG files on all PCs in the member service area is your responsibility.

Coordinating the exchange of EEG files between the medical office buildings and the member service area.
as necessary, performs troubleshooting on any digital EEG equipment.
For EEG and other neurodiagnostic procedures, clean and restock equipment as needed.
Occasionally take on additional tasks and obligations as directed.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • One (1) year of experience at the EEG Technologist level.
  • Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Electro neurodiagnostic technology program
License, Certification, Registration
  • Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists in EEG.
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years or more of experience at the EEG Technologist level.

  • Covers outpatient and inpatient. Locations are Vandever, San Marcos, and hospitals.
