To check the status of a SASSA SRD application, follow these steps:

• Go to the SASSA website (www.sassa.gov.za).
• Click on the “Grants” tab on the homepage.
• Click on “Social Relief of Distress” on the dropdown menu.
• Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Click here to check the status of your SRD application”.
• Enter your ID number and the phone number you used to apply.
• Click the “Submit” button.
• Your application status for each month you applied will be shown, along with a message indicating whether it was accepted or rejected.
• If approved, it will indicate whether there is a plan for payments.
• If the reasoning for the rejection is accepted, the decision may be challenged within 30 days of the day it was declined.
