JOB DESCRIPTION
The implementation and supervision of integrated workplace safety and environmental, health, and safety programs at selected facilities is the primary responsibility of this role.
Significant Duties:
- Putting into practice integrated environmental, occupational, and health safety strategies at specified facilities
- Coordinates complicated and varied facility operations to lower the risk of property damage, liability, and injury to people.
- Acts as a liaison for governing bodies and/or local communities.
- Provide advice on and guarantees adherence to federal, state, regional, and local laws and regulations governing workplace safety and environmental health.
- Oversees the timely completion and submission of regulatory reports.
- Oversees, performs, and/or analyzes audits of various safety initiatives.
- Putting in place a mechanism for looking into and reporting any events involving injuries to patients, staff, or visitors, illnesses at work, or property damage.
- Analyzes data to spot trends in workplace safety, environmental health, and safety risks, and then suggests, tracks, and develops mitigation measures and prevention strategies/programs.
- Serves as a resource for internal clients on all issues pertaining to environmental health and safety and workplace safety.
- Policies for environmental care are reviewed and updated.
- Carries out management and staff training programs utilizing KP National and Regional curricula.
- Schedules and oversees drills, making sure they are properly evaluated and recorded.
- Carries out ergonomic workplace and/or task evaluations at levels 1 and 2.
- Attends meetings and runs them.
- Utilizes a range of software programs to conduct research, write reports, analyze data, and display information using written and multi-media techniques.

Basic requirements:
Experience:
- Experience in disaster management, workplace safety, or environmental health and safety administration/management, ideally in the healthcare industry, must be at least three (3) years old.
Education:
- Four (4) years of experience in a field that is directly linked OR a bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, natural science, engineering, health care, or a similar discipline is necessary.
- Required: General Education Development (GED) or high school diploma
License, Certification, and Registration:
- N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Showed an understanding of California laws and regulations pertaining to environmental protection, public health, and workplace safety.
- Skills in consulting, teamwork, and team growth are necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, as well as the capacity to write reports.
- Must be able to function in a partnership between labor and management.
- Must be proficient with PC applications, including word, spreadsheet, database, and presentation graphics.
- Industry safety certification (CSP, CIH, HEM, CHMM, etc ) is preferred.
