Job Summary:
This attorney will concentrate on the individual plaintiff, PAGA claims, and class action employment litigation as a member of the Litigation Group's team of business and employment litigators. The majority of this work will come from California-related issues, but this lawyer might handle employment lawsuit cases in other markets. Aside from working on important labor and employment tasks, this attorney may also offer advice.

Significant Duties:

Manage outside counsel in PAGA cases as well as single plaintiff and class action employment litigation cases. Preferably is experienced with California wage and hour laws.

Advice on the defense, settling, and trial of employment lawsuit disputes for internal clients.

Participate in mediations as KP's principal authorized representative.

collaborates with operational leaders and human resources to offer guidance and put remedial actions into place.

reviews court cases, memos, and other types of correspondence, as well as other delicate topics.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience litigating or managing the litigation of single-plaintiff cases.
Education
  • Bachelors degree. Juris Doctorate degree required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • State Bar License (California) within 24 months of hire
Additional Requirements:
  • Solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and sharp analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience litigating or managing the litigation of single plaintiff litigation.
  • Class Action experience in wage and hour, fair pay, Title VII or FEHA claims preferred.
  • Trial experience.
  • Interest in/familiarity with e-discovery trends and developments.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of employment litigation matters with a high degree of independence.
  • The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in most or all of the above-referenced areas.
  • Excellent academic and professional qualifications.
  • Excellent references.
  • Solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and sharp analytical skills.

This position has a target base salary of $225,000 to $281,250 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
