Assists during surgery as member of surgical team by passing instruments and supplies following established policies, procedures and standards.
Significant Duties:
As a member of the surgical team, assists during surgery by distributing tools and supplies and providing assistance as needed. This person also identifies emergency circumstances, reacts to them, and offers assistance.
Scrubbing before working in a sterile field or area complies with the recommended aseptic techniques needed for surgical procedures.
Prior to performing surgery, completes the essential setup of the operating room by positioning or arranging surgical trays, instruments, and other equipment components as needed.
After surgical procedures, clean the operating area by removing and discarding contaminated tools; disassembling instruments for sterilization is necessary.
Maintains and makes sure that sterile goods, departmental supplies, and instruments and equipment are operationally ready.
Depending on the situation, one might prepare patients for treatment and operate a range of electronic devices.
creates and preserves cordial, cooperative relationships with patients, the public, and other staff members.
carries out additional tasks as needed, including as transporting patients and helping to orient and train new staff members.
Promotes guarantees, and enhances customer service to internal and external clients by displaying abilities that are consistent with the company's guiding principle of delivering exceptional customer relations and high-quality service. Occasionally take on additional tasks and obligations as directed.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
-
2000 hours Operating Room scrub or equivalent military experience within the last three years and competency scrubbing for all types of surgical procedures (except open heart) or must be a recent graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician or military equivalent program within the last six months.
