About UKZN Online Registration

Before registering you must make sure that:

  • you have been fully admitted (a firm offer) to the desired degree
  • have obtained financial clearance
  • and have cleared and/or removed all system holds on your student account as per the University’s rules and policies.

The College of Health Science

The College of Health Sciences is one of the four colleges that form the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).  Our College is devoted to global excellence by preparing professional healthcare providers/researchers. A multi-professional institution, the College of Health Sciences is dispersed among four of the University of KwaZulu-five Natal's campuses. They actively engage in worldwide collaboration and collaborations for teaching, research, and service, and their outstanding scholars operate holistically, ethically, and in a socially relevant manner within the African healthcare setting.

Our college consists of four Schools namely:

  • Clinical Medicine
  • Nursing and Public Health
  • Laboratory Medicine and Medical Sciences

You can register for the College of Health Sciences by following the steps below: 
1.1 Students take in a presentation on group academic monitoring and support. The confirmation of attendance at the conclusion of the recording allows them to continue.

The College-specific AFS test must be finished either NOW, before continuing, or LATER, following registering, but no later than Friday, February 24, 2023. Those that choose NOW are directed to their exam location. Those that choose LATER acknowledge they will reach the deadline and move on to Step 2.

AFS examinations tailored to particular colleges are inserted for those who choose to complete it Immediately. After finished, they are returned to Step 2.

Step 2: Advice on the curriculum and module selection

Teams from the Schools will assess and provide advise on registration-related difficulties.

2.1 The academic hold is lifted to allow the student to choose their semester's course offerings. When a student chooses their modules, a notification is sent to the school's Academic/ADO/AL (TL) for review and approval. A window containing the required guidance will show if the School rejects the student's module selection. Unless the School accepts, the student must choose new modules.

Before proceeding, students must read and accept the agreement of understanding (paragraph 2.2).

Final Action

Once the proper modules have been chosen and the form of undertaking has been finished, the college administration will check and continue with the registration procedure (documents outstanding, financial clearance etc).

 

REGISTERATION FOR THE LAW & MANAGEMENT STUDIES

STEP 1

Please visit the university website (https://ukzn.ac.za/students/), click on the site, and then select “Explore UKZN” to access the Student Central entry. Type in your student ID number and press the next button. Enter your student number and pin number on the next screen. If you don't have a pin because you're a new student, select “Request a Pin,” and an SMS with the pin will be delivered to your phone.
Once you have your pin, return there and click Login after entering your student number and pin. Click Create New Pin, then click Change Pin. Choose Self-Help registration, then select Proceed and UKZN web registration.

STEP 2

To register online, select UKZN. For rules and regulations, click. Please READ the document and accept it. If this is not approved, you won't be able to continue with registration.

STEP 3

Click the Address Validation link after accepting. Verify your address information and make any required updates.
The area for address validation is the next phase. You can make any necessary updates to your information by clicking on the blue line.

It is required that you view your address and contact information when you first log in to the system. You will see a warning if you attempt to enter registration right away.

You must return and accept the rules and regulations in order to continue. Access to this option has been blocked until all Academic Registration Rules and Regulations have been approved.

STEP 4

Choose the link for Contact Information. Verify your contact information. Please verify that your email address and mobile number are accurate. These will be your primary means of contact with the university.
Choose the link for New Registration. You must choose the most appropriate qualification if you are considering applying with more than one possible qualification.
You will be taken to a general group for academic monitoring and help by clicking the aforementioned link.

STEP 5

Choose your courses now, having in mind the regulations for each module group as well as the total number of credits for the year. When you violate any rule, the system will produce errors. Choose timetable blocks for the chosen modules, making sure not to choose the same blocks for modules taken during the same semester. Choose “Save and Proceed,” “Previous,” or “Restart Process” to return to the qualifying screen after you are pleased with your choice.

 

 

REGISTERATION FOR College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science (CAES)

STEP 1

Please visit the university website, click on the site, and then select “Explore UKZN” to access the Student Central (sc.ukzn.ac.za) entry. Type in your student ID number and press the next button. Enter your student number and pin number on the next screen. If you don't have a pin because you're a new student, click “Request a Pin” and an SMS with the pin will be delivered to your phone.

Once you have your pin, return there and click Login after entering your student number and pin. Click Create New Pin, then click Change Pin. After selecting Self-Help registration and pressing Proceed, select UKZN web registration.

STEP 2

To register online, select UKZN. After reading the entire document, select Rules and Regulations.

Please READ the document and accept it. If this is not approved, you won't be able to continue with registration.

STEP 3

After accepting, click the link for address validation.

Verify and update your address information as necessary.

STEP 4
Choose the link for Contact Information. Verify your contact information. Please verify that your email address and mobile number are accurate.

They will serve as the primary means of communication between you and the university.

STEP 5

Choose the link for New Registration. You must choose the most appropriate qualification if you are considering applying with more than one possible qualification.

STEP 7

After making your choice, click “Save and Proceed,” “Previous” to advance to the next screen, or “Restart Process” to return to the qualification screen.

STEP 8
You will need to request approval of your choice if you have any credit issues or if you are an Orange, Red, or Purple student. Green pupils who registered correctly will go to stage 9 next.

STEP 9

Click “Request Approval” on . You might record some remarks that the professor needs to give their permission. You can log out and wait for an email informing you of the status of your request after clicking “Submit” and receiving a notice saying that the message has been forwarded.

If your request was denied, kindly log in again, select “New Registration” from the drop-down menu, and modify your module choice in accordance with the guidance provided.

You will be taken to a screen where you can upload documents if your request has been granted or a Green student has successfully selected all of their subjects without making any mistakes. The documents will be listed on the screen. If necessary, browse and upload a pdf file.

You can log out after submitting and wait for the College to contact you via email. If the documents you submitted fit the standards or if you need to resend them, you will be informed.

STEP 10
A screen displaying the registration's costs will subsequently be shown to you. To complete your registration, click the “Accept Registration” button. To release any holds that are still in place (such as FCR, which stands for “Financial Clearance Needed”), get in touch with finance. Your choice will now be saved in the database, and you'll be enrolled automatically.

You will now receive a notice stating that you have registered if there are no holds on you. You can print your proof of registration or your cost summary, then log out if you'd like.

 

REGISTERATION FOR College of HUMANITIES

Step 1:
