Significant Duties:
Manage outside counsel in PAGA cases as well as single plaintiff and class action employment litigation cases. Preferably is experienced with California wage and hour laws.
Advice on the defense, settling, and trial of employment lawsuit disputes for internal clients.
Participate in mediations as KP's principal authorized representative.

collaborates with operational leaders and human resources to offer guidance and put remedial actions into place.
reviews court cases, memos, and other types of correspondence, as well as other delicate topics.

- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience litigating or managing the litigation of single-plaintiff cases.
- Bachelors degree. Juris Doctorate degree required.
- State Bar License (California) within 24 months of hire
- Solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and sharp analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience litigating or managing the litigation of single plaintiff litigation.
- Class Action experience in wage and hour, fair pay, Title VII or FEHA claims preferred.
- Trial experience.
- Interest in/familiarity with e-discovery trends and developments.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of employment litigation matters with a high degree of independence.
- The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in most or all of the above-referenced areas.
- Excellent academic and professional qualifications.
- Excellent references.

- Demonstrated qualities consistent with the Department’s preferred operating style, i.e., mutual respect, fairness, honesty, ethical behavior, independence, and creative thinking while operating as a team member.
This position has a target base salary of $225,000 to $281,250 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
