Provides diagnosis and treatment for more complex forms of communication problems. guarantees adherence to regulations and standards. oversees entry-level employees' work and provides assistance to community programs.

Significant Duties:
Provides specialized treatment to adults and children for a range of communication difficulties, voice and swallowing difficulty, and neurological defects. It also evaluates and delivers diagnostic testing. Informs doctors and family members/caregivers of test results.
Cooperates with the doctor as the treatment plan evolves. gives more inexperienced therapists training. takes part in the creation of in-service training programs for staff development. oversees the work of contract therapists and the care given to patients at facilities other than Kaiser. provides advice to multidisciplinary teams.
Creates carries out, and keeps up departmental policies and procedures. ensures adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal requirements. determines and suggests ways to save expenses and enhance services. aids in community outreach initiatives.
Regular position compensation reviews are done at Kaiser Permanente. Kaiser Permanente has the right to review and alter job descriptions at any time, as well as to convert positions with salaries to hourly compensation. Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of previous experience as a Speech Therapist.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
License, Certification, Registration
- Speech-Language Pathologist License (California)
- Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate
- Basic Life Support required at hire
- National Provider Identifier
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
