sassa grant online 2023-2024
SASSA, which stands for the South African Social Security Agency, is responsible for ensuring that all South Africans have access to essential social services as mandated by the Social Services and Supports Act. In 2013, the South African Social Security Agency initiative was launched to provide assistance for various forms of social support, including disability, income support, old age pensions, and child support.
Regarding the scope of responsibilities of SASSA, it oversees the provision of social support and services to eligible South Africans. This includes managing and distributing disability grants, income support, old age pensions, and child support grants. Additionally, SASSA is responsible for processing and managing applications for these social support programs, and ensuring that eligible individuals receive the necessary assistance.
If an individual has been granted permission to reside in South Africa but cannot find employment that provides sufficient income to support themselves, they may be eligible to receive assistance through one or more of the social support programs managed by SASSA. To determine eligibility, the individual must submit an application and meet the requirements of the specific program they are applying for.
