Description:
Under indirect supervision, offers psychotherapy and assistance for chemical dependency to adults, teenagers, CD patients' significant others, and families.
Significant Duties:
responds to and prioritizes patient calls for general CD advice, Tx services, and information. responds to crisis calls and responds accordingly.
higher-level assessment (e.g., additional, non-CD, MH diagnoses, a threat to self or others, non-CD crisis evaluations, emotional/family dysfunction) is provided.
performs psychological and intake exams.
creates treatment plans and offers them to the CDRP/S treatment team for approval, revision, and advice.
attends conferences on clinical cases.
delivers lectures on the chemical dependency for educational purposes.
offers services for both individual and group counseling for those with chemical dependency in general.
Therapy for adolescents, significant others, families, and multiple families is provided as needed.
offers case management services, including coordinating referrals and access to resources.
To CDRP/S Counselors I and II, student interns, license candidates, and candidates for an alcohol or drug certificate, mentorship functions, and clinical direction may be performed.

- A minimum of two (2) years post graduate relevant supervised addiction medicine therapy experience within the last five (5) years is required.
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or other field related to behavioral health.
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California)
- May consider LCSW, with a Masters Degree in Social Work, job code 16565, for this position.
