Significant Duties:
Establishes procedures for identifying cases of malignant disease diagnosed and treated within Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program. Analyzes diagnostic test results. Identifies appropriate cases. Consults with attending physicians and pathologists for clarification as needed.

- Minimum two (2) years tumor registry, computerized cancer system or related experience.
- Bachelors degree in nursing, health information management, or related field OR four (4) years experience in a directly related field.
- Tumor Registrar Certificate within 12 months of hire
- Statistical data analysis and interpretation experience.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, diagnostic examinations, and characteristics/behavior of malignancies.
- Knowledge of current methods of diagnosis, treatment, and symptoms of various malignancies.
- Knowledge of health information confidentiality statutes and hospital procedures for medical records.
- Demonstrated ability to abstract pertinent information without distortion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, customer service, influence/leadership, interpersonal relations, oral communication, project management, quality management, results orientation, systems thinking, and written communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
- Supervisory/lead or project management experience.
- Valid Hawaii RN License (must meet education requirement(s) for Hawaii State Licensure).
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
