Department Overview: 
The charter established Internal Audit Services (IAS), whose purpose is to offer independent, impartial assurance and consulting services aimed at improving the operations of Kaiser Foundation Hospital/Health Plan (KFH/HP). IAS assists the organization in achieving its goals of offering premium, reasonably priced healthcare to our members and the communities we serve by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the efficacy of risk management, control, and governance procedures.
Intern Project(s):

As a member of the Internal Audit Services (IAS) team, the intern will work. The purpose of Internal Audit Services' (IAS') job is to assess the organization's network of risk management, control, and governance processes to see if they are sufficient and operating as intended by management.

Risks are correctly recognized and effectively addressed.

As required, communication with various governance bodies takes place.

Information that is important to management, operations, and finance is accurate, trustworthy, and timely.

adherence to rules, guidelines, and practices.

Resources are economically acquired, effectively utilised, and suitably safeguarded.

Plans, programs, and goals are accomplished.

The organization's control process promotes quality and ongoing progress.

In terms of change efforts, system deployments, risk management improvement, and assurance mechanism design, management receives advice.

In collaboration with the National Compliance Office, compliance with key legislation, applicable rules, and regulations that have an influence on the business

IAS may conduct audits that concentrate on any one of the following three areas, or a combination of them:

Operational risks, which include financial risks

Compliance hazard

Target skill set:

  Finance/Accounting or Compliance focused education preferred. Interest in auditing, process improvement, client service, or the insurance and healthcare industry.

Position Type:

Flexible (In-person & remote).  Office is located in Ordway Building – 1 Kaiser Plaza, Oakland, CA 94612 (willing to place in Pasadena, Colorado, or Washington as well)

Internship Duration:  10-12 weeks

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
