Essential Functions:
– Inform patients about fundamental self-care techniques and general health issues.
-Review, clarify, and discuss with the patient or parent the doctor's orders.
– Teach patients how to utilize household appliances.
– Use orthopedic devices.
– Dressings are applied and removed.
– Adhere to accepted infection control practices.
– Start emergency treatments, such as CPR, and treat patients who are in need of immediate attention.
– Help patients up.
– Track the patient's vital statistics.
– Watch out for bleeding in patients.
– Check machine displays.
– Get patients ready and situated for operations.
– Offer therapeutic patient care in accordance with a doctor's orders.
– Keep an eye on the patient's status and track any reactions before, during, and after procedures.
– Monitor patients remotely while keeping an eye on them.
– Visit the designated patients to monitor and note symptoms.
– Carry out physical muscle tests and geometric measurements.
– Apply topical or aerosol anesthetics to patients.
– Modify physical therapy regimens as necessary given the circumstances.
– Apply physical treatment techniques.
– Assist patients with exercises and ambulation.
– Hold classes for group exercise.
– Assess the effectiveness of the patient's physical therapy.
– Teach patients how to perform basic and advanced physical therapy activities.
– Interpret and carry out the physical therapy regimen that has been given.
– Carry out elementary physical treatment.
– Patient interviews to gather information.
– Examine the patient's record for medical data.
– Completing forms for maintenance.
– Finish patient processing paperwork (such as CPRs).
– Log and chart patient information. Obtain the patient's prescription and medical history.
– Examine patient charts to assess patients and spot serious conditions.
– Completing documents and forms.
– Discuss test results with a doctor and notify them of any irregularities.
– Report findings in a report.
– Execute precise calculations and measurements during diagnostic test processes.
– Keep up-to-date records of every test.
– Record and keep track of information about how patients are treated, procedure logs, and equipment usage logs.
Create recurring workload statistics.
– Gather and assemble total statistics and data.
Basic Qualifications:
• Completion of an authorized program for physical therapy assistants leading to an associate's degree in the field OR its California Examining Committee equivalent • Completion of clinical competencies successfully while completing an internship.
• A valid license or one made available by the state of California for use as a physical therapy assistant.
Notes:
• Days and hours may vary; this is an on-call position.
• Will perform both outpatient and inpatient work.
• Locations to include but not limited to SJC, SNC, KM1, HMH, TRM, YLM, CMO, OCI and OCA.
