To assume responsibility for the ambulatory operations' local management. delivers the best member experience while coordinating the daily provision of high-quality patient care in the integrated care delivery system. drives performance goals defined in the yearly operational plan while putting the service delivery paradigm into practice in collaboration with the Chief and Director. oversees and leads activities for patient and worker safety.

Significant Duties:

Plans, organizes, and supervises departmental activities to deliver safe, superior patient care. oversees the daily clinical operations, including patient flow, phone access to the medical personnel, and staffing schedules. ensuring that ambulatory operations are running smoothly before the first clinic session, scheduling 1:1 Clinical Assistant and sufficient RN staffing, and setting up lunch and late coverage.

carries out the department's service delivery plan, as established by the Chief and Director.

ensures that clinical support personnel is operating at its best by working with the chief and practicing physicians. collaborates with other clinical managers to improve the patient experience as a whole. the integrated care delivery service models' multidisciplinary care direction and coordination.Develops and implements strategies and processes to achieve strategic goals by taking part in interdepartmental, service area, regional, and task force meetings.

Recruits and hires employees in collaboration with the human resources team; plans a thorough orientation for new hires; and completes yearly performance reviews, competency assessments, etc. Establishes performance goals in collaboration with Health Plan leaders and offers staff counseling, coaching, feedback, recognition, training, and growth.

oversees and leads the department's initiatives for patient safety and worker safety (s). Ensures adherence to all regulations, guidelines, and EH&S standards that may be relevant.

oversees and leads MPS, service recovery, and customer service activities.

Contributes to the creation of the budget and is in charge of payroll and non-payroll targets and deviations.

promotes, supports, and co-leads UBT activities inside and across the department (s). In charge of process improvement, which may include but is not limited to: efficiency in the work flow (such as cutting waste, maximizing talents and roles, and revising the work flow)

collaborates with materials management to decide on supply PAR levels and, when practical, to purchase products from the preferred formulary. the proper reduction or avoidance of non-contract goods.

accountable for the clinical departments' facilities, equipment, and related building egress space. reports and escalates work orders that go over the SLA.

partners with teams and committees responsible for regional and service area space planning. oversees the use and assignment of space in the clinical areas to ensure proper assignment.

processes in KPHC and other relevant electronic health record systems are observed and verified. Support documentation and upgrade activities, and, as necessary, discuss problems with staff and direct reports.

leads the medical staff on-site and, if necessary, coordinates ancillary support services. Maintains proficiency and competency in clinical skills, techniques, etc. Provides direct patient care, as needed.

Basic Qualifications: 
Experience
  • Minimum five (5)years of current clinical experience plus three (3) years of supervisory experience required.
Education
  • BSN or Bachelors degree required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association

 

Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated clinical and managerial competence appropriate to area(s) of responsibility; familiarity with all pertinent laws, regulations, and standards of nursing practice; demonstrated competence with financial management principles and standard software applications in a Windows environment required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated devotion to detail and follow-up is required.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking with ability to approach work as part of an interconnected system in which change to one part of the organization produces change and impact within the whole structure is required.
