The nursing Method accurately recognizes the patient and the planned surgery. Performs patient care tasks within the parameters of competence, taking into account the patient's age-related demands.
Inform the registered nurse of any odd findings.
Gathers information and promptly gives it to the registered nurse so that it can be used to update the treatment plan.
With the registered nurse, discharge barriers are discussed, and interventions are implemented as needed.
Abides by hospital standards that tailor care to the needs of the serving population as they relate to age.
Inform the members of the healthcare team of the outcomes of interventions that fall within their areas of expertise.
The charting's documentation is legible, signed, and has a date.
Data collecting within the bounds of competence serve as documentation.
Clinical Results uses common sense safety measures and maintains a secure environment for oneself and others.
Observes the health of the patient and their family and alert the registered nurse to any unexpected changes or strange observations.
Displays competencies while on probation and after departmental competency validation are complete.
Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens throughout the medical center utilizing proper body mechanics.
Participates in departmental performance improvement activities, i.e., planning, measuring/monitoring, assessing, and improving. Utilizes computer systems effectively and efficiently.
Customer Service
Meets the requirements for customer service set forth by the service area, medical center, and particular department.
Anticipates the needs of the consumer, acts proactively to satisfy those needs and accepts responsibility within the authority to see that problems are fixed.

Fiscal Responsibility
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Nursing Attendant in an acute hospital, skilled nursing, extended care, or convalescent care setting.
- Current enrollment in an approved RN or LVN program may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
- Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.
- State Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a Nursing Attendant course or current enrollment in an approved RN or LVN program.
- Basic Life Support
Additional Requirements:
- Depending on what the medical center specifies, certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant may be necessary.
- Significant amounts of walking, standing, light lifting, exposure to patient aspects, and treatment of emergencies and patient occurrences within their area of
- Expertise is all required for the position.
- Demonstrates clear, succinct communication that is appropriate for the patient's developmental stage.
- Possesses fluency in the English language (written and verbal).
- Modules 1-4 of Neonatal Resuscitation are necessary for family-centered care.
Notes:
- This is an on-call position, days and hours may vary.
- If twelve (12) hour option is chosen, the shift will be 12:00 pm-12:30 am, backup 8-hour shift will be 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
