ONE YEAR OF RN EXPERIENCE OR NEWLY TRANSITED LPN TO RN WITH A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR OF RECENT EXPERIENCE IN ED, UC, ICU, OR SPECIAL PROCEDURES AND/OR PERIOP SETTING.

PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR WA STATE RN LICENSE # AND AHA BLS # WITH ISSUE AND EXPIRATION DATES.

Job Summary:

In accordance with the nursing code of ethics, the ambulatory nursing care standards, and the regulations of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington, provide nursing care to a specified set of patients. Organize and facilitate the patient's access to healthcare services in other areas of the healthcare delivery system. Together with the healthcare team, provide and organize nursing care for the patient. The Registered Nurse oversees and participates in patient assessment, care plan development, and implementation as a crucial part of the health care team.

Essential Duties:

  •  Using the nursing process assesses the ongoing nursing care requirements of a predetermined patient group. This examination is described using a nursing diagnosis. creates a written plan of treatment to meet the needs of the patient. helps patients, their families, and other important people to create healthcare goals that are a component of their unique treatment plan. based on the most important medical demands of the patient and the available funding. delivers nursing interventions in a safe and knowledgeable manner. Prior to interventions, information is given to the patient's family/significant others. provides patients' family members and other important people with telephone consultations. continuously assesses how well patients are responding to treatment. recognizes and prepares for changes in the patient's condition and nursing care needs. changes the specific care plan in cooperation with the health care team.
  • By examining, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to fulfill the requirements of the populations served, one demonstrates comprehension of the physiological and psychological aspects of normal aging. Effective communication abilities with the targeted age groups serviced are displayed. identifies one's own learning needs and engages in educational initiatives according to the patient groups serviced according to their age (Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Geriatric). collaborates, coordinates, and interacts with other members of the healthcare team to plan and deliver care. evaluates the needs of specific patients who need hospitalization; starts nursing admission database; collaborates with inpatient staff and doctors on release plans. Effectively collaborates and interacts with other team members to complete the job.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the patient's psychological, cultural, and emotional requirements in every nurse-patient interaction. explains to patients and their loved ones the functions of the professional nurse and other members of the healthcare team, the nursing services that are offered, and how to access those services. orients people to their rights and responsibilities under the Consumer Bill of Rights. As part of the nursing assessment, the patient's educational needs are identified. creates a teaching component for each nurse care plan. teaches and counsels patients in accordance with their learning needs, the needs of their families and other important people, and the medical treatment plan. promotes patient adherence to treatment and medical regimens. The knowledge of science and behavior is the foundation of education.
  • Evaluates the patient's risky lifestyle choices. integrates components of care related to health promotion and prevention with regular assessments of nursing care need. collaborates with the patient to create a plan to enhance overall health. implements preventive actions on a bodily and mental level. encourages patients to take responsibility for their own health care. follows KFHPW documentation guidelines. gives each patient a safe environment and complies with KFHPW safety regulations. obeys KFHPW infection control standards and recommendations, including those for communicable illness reporting.
  • Acknowledges personal learning requirements and engages in programs for ongoing education to address such needs. takes part in student instruction and staff orientation events. collaborates with managers to complete the performance assessment process for oneself, teammates, and teams. By creating, putting into practice, and assessing professional nursing standards as well as taking part in multidisciplinary quality assurance activities, nurses ensure the quality of care. engages in professional pursuits. takes part in nursing research and applies what is learned to nursing practice. respects KFHPW personnel policies and conducts themselves in a highly professional manner at all times. consistently exhibits an appearance that adheres to the KFHPW dress code.

Education

  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) required at hire
  • Basic Life Support required at hire

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Communication, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ambulatory care nursing experience
  • Primary nursing or case management experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
