Description:

Performs a variety of patient care duties under direct supervision in accordance with the Registered Physical Therapist's instructions. Under the direct direction of the Physical Therapy manager, perform patient care, normal office tasks, department maintenance, and other non-patient care tasks.

Essential Purposes

• Aids patients in getting ready for therapy

• Use therapeutic techniques in line with the department's policies and guidelines.

• As directed by the therapist, teach patients how to use ambulation aids, transfer techniques, and supportive devices.

• Assist physical therapists and their assistants with treatments and procedures as needed.

• Record the patient's medical care.

• When required, explain cancellations or modifications to physical therapy regimens in medical records.

• Keep treatment sites and equipment clean.

• Deliver treatment and classroom presentation supplies and equipment.

• Keep enough supplies of towels and other necessities in the treatment rooms.

• Place a supply and material order.

• Carry out additional relevant tasks as required

The duties of this position do not include supervision.
