To limit the risk of human injury, potential liability, and loss of Company assets connected to ergonomic/body mechanics workplace safety concerns conducts ergonomic evaluations, produce evaluation reports related to training, and offers expert assistance to physicians and all employees.
Essential Purposes
– Assist in determining the type and location of ergonomic hazards in the workplace and in putting policies in place to lessen or eliminate such issues.
– Perform ergonomic evaluations and produce reports on those evaluations.
– Works with the construction team to develop and put recommendations into action.
Apply ergonomic/body mechanic skills to the redesign of workstations, adjustable fixtures, and tools, as well as other exposures that have caused or may cause RMIs, by identifying and implementing technically and financially viable measures of abatement.
– In accordance with instructions, conducts ergonomic job hazard studies of workstations with identified risk factors, such as job process, workstation- Works to provide safety training to all levels of personnel, including instruction on how to use tools and equipment properly, as well as general instruction on risk factors that can result in ergonomic hazards.
– Offers instruction in and training in body mechanics.
– Provides tracking/trending data, advice, and suggestions to reduce occupational diseases and injuries, and manages related databases., and work method, and follows up to assess the effectiveness of adjustments.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in the field of Worker's Compensation and Disability.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience specific to Rehabilitation and/or Ergonomics.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (e.g. human factors, rehabilitation, physiology), OR four (4) years of progressive rehabilitation, ergonomics, or risk management experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
• N/A.
Additional Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of ergonomics and body mechanics.
• Knowledge of workstation evaluations.
• Ability to work with Window's based operating system.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of TJC, OSHA, Title 22, EEOC. DFEH, ADA, FMLA AND CFRA.
• Position requires considerable walking, standing, sitting and moderate lifting.
• Ability to provide training regarding body mechanics and ergonomics.
• Demonstrated knowledge regarding ergonomic workstations.
• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Ergonomics Associate (CEA), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, or completion of an ergonomic/rehabilitation assessment program preferred.
• Related licensure in the field of healthcare (e.g. PT, OT, RN) preferred.
• Preferred: Certified Associate Ergonomist, Certified Healthcare Safety Professional.
• Registered Environmental Health Specialist.
