Officer, Security
Essential Purposes
• To identify and prevent crimes, security breaches, and harmful circumstances, patrol and inspect buildings and grounds often. Create reports for related crimes, incidents, or lost and found items.
• Use age-appropriate security techniques when interacting with patients, members, guests, and staff.
• Defuse potentially violent situations by intervening as needed to protect patients, guests, and staff who are in danger or have been threatened.
• Be available when asked to prevent agitated or threatening patients, visitors, or anyone else from posing a threat to themselves or others. to help the medical personnel restrain and control these patients as necessary.
• Offer patients, guests, and employees personal escorts, physical help, approved car assistance, and information. help with the movement and management of money, payroll, and medications.
• Regulates access to certain locations as determined by the Administrator, Division Security Manager, or Assistant Security Manager. Lock and unlock buildings on a regular basis as well as when the staff asks.
• Oversees and maintains two-way radio and closed-circuit television surveillance systems.
• Attend to fire or burglary alarms and take the necessary measures. In times of emergency, coordinate safety and security measures. Reset and clean up alarm systems. Keep in touch with the alarm monitoring firm and coordinate alarm information.
• Manage traffic within certain zones and enforce parking policies as necessary at the medical center or other facilities.
• As allocated, the “Designated Shift Lead Officer” will oversee and coordinate the various responsibilities of the security officers working the shift under the supervision of the assistant security manager.
• Performs other tasks as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
• Minimum two (2) years of recent experience in military, law enforcement, security& safety, or equivalent.
Education
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
• Current and valid Oregon or Washington drivers license required at time of hire/transfer.
• Current State of Oregon Board on Public Safety Standards and Training Security Officer Certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
Additional Requirements:
• Working knowledge of Oregon Criminal Statutes.
• Working knowledge of safety and security guidelines, security procedures and Division policies and procedures.
• FM Radio Operation.
• Familiar with “10 code” procedures.
• Crisis Intervention skills.
• Computer keyboard operation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to perform physical duties associated with this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Four (4) years of healthcare/hospital experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Oregon Criminal Statutes.
• Oregon or Washington Police Academy.
• Thorough knowledge of safety and security guidelines, security procedures and Division policies and procedures.
• Trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
• FM Radio Operation.• 10 Code Procedures.
• CCTV Operation.
• Computer Keyboard Operation.
• Crisis Intervention skills.
