sassa money not in my account 2023-2024
If you were approved for an SASSA grant but didn't opt for a bank deposit, you may be wondering about other payment methods. For those in financial need and without employment, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) provides social relief grants. For permanent social benefits such as the foster care grant, grant for the elderly, and grant for people with disabilities, payments are made on specific days each month, starting on the second day of the month. Social Relief Distress (SRD) grant recipients do not have a fixed payment date and are compensated on a date set by the court. Beneficiaries can choose the payment method that suits them best and use their SASSA cards to pay for their grants at retailers and merchants.
Here is how R350 SRD grants are paid:
Post Bank/CashSend Services
- If you have been approved for an SASSA grant but did not choose to receive your payment through a bank account, there is still an option available to you. You can receive your R350 grant through a CashSend using PostBank services even if you don't have a bank account.
- Beneficiaries can also use their ID cards and registered phone numbers to retrieve their grant money. However, it is important to note that the registered phone number must belong to the grant applicant and be a personal phone number.
Checkers, PicknPay, Shoprite, Usave & Boxer Stores
- SASSA has expanded the options for beneficiaries to receive their grant payments and made the process more efficient. Recipients can now collect their grants at Checkers, Boxer, or PicknPay stores, in addition to other options. However, it is important to note that BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing, and Pick n Pay Liquor outlets are not authorized to distribute the grants. Before going to the store, beneficiaries should wait for an SMS notification indicating that their grant is ready for collection.
SASSA Card
-
Beneficiaries of SASSA grants can choose to have their grant money deposited onto their SASSA card, which does not incur any fees unless used for services not covered by SASSA. To obtain an SASSA card, applicants can apply through representatives at the South African Post Office.
