Essential Purposes
• Reads a requisition, customer order, work order, shipment order, or production schedule to determine what has to be moved, gathered, or dispersed.
• Establishes the stock requirements to restock departments' supplies.
• Fills orders from the inventory in the storage area.
• Fills out work orders, and requests for supplies, equipment, or other stock items, then gives them to procurement clerks for proper processing.
• Assembles worksheets or tickets in accordance with customer requirements.
• Conveys customer orders to the packing station or shipping department, or assembles orders from stock and sets them on pallets or shelves.
• Packs supplies in boxes and delivers parcels to the requisitioning department in preparation for mailing.
• Prepares bills of lading and packs, crates, and prepares cargo for departure.
• Responds to inquiries about delivery and receipt from vendors, end users, and other Material Services staff.
• Gets in touch with suppliers, clients, and/or accounts payable for incorrect, incomplete, or damaged shipments.
• Sends back supplies and machinery for repair or credit.
• Contacted requisitioning and regional departments to address issues with the ordering, receipt, and distribution of materials.
• Operates a vehicle to pick up things from various sites for shipping or to transfer stored items from a warehouse to a facility.
• Transports goods and commodities from production or receiving sites to storage or other designated areas.
• Arranges goods or objects on racks, shelves, or bins in a specific order, such as by size, type, style, or color, or product code.
Sort and keep perishable commodities in cold storage.
• Adds identification marks to materials.
• Cracks up crates, bales, and other receptacles.
• Arranges stock parts in a predetermined order for other workers to assemble.
• Restocks supply closets for departments.
• Manages departmental supply inventory.
• Keeps track of the quantity and state of materials or goods sent or received.
• Checks that items being distributed inside the facility are weighed or counted in accordance with corporate standards.
• Keeps track of inventory.
• Enters data into computers, as well as other automated and manual methods.
• Executes other relevant tasks as required.

Grade 185
A storekeeper must have a minimum of six months of experience as a storekeeper I or six months of storekeeping experience in another organization.
– GED or high school diploma.
– A valid driver's license from California.
– A fundamental understanding of automated data entering.
– The capacity to read and understand brief communications, memos, and simple directions.
– The capacity for basic correspondence.
– The capacity to communicate information to clients, customers, and other employees of the company in one-on-one and small-group settings.
– In addition, take note of the Position Specifications provided in the relevant CBA. – The employee must be prepared to work in a labor-management partnership setting.
