Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist II
Essential Purposes
• Executes patient studies in accordance with predetermined protocol, which includes positioning a particular coil close to the area of interest.
• Operates imaging and other equipment devices to deliver high-quality diagnostic services. This includes entering commands into a computer to set scan sequences, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and entering data onto a camera's keyboard to take pictures.
• Conducts patient interviews to resolve concerns about magnetic resonance imaging treatments and demonstrates a high level of tact, courtesies, and composure when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Ensures patient and staff safety by outlining safety procedures, asking for the removal of potentially dangerous metal objects, warning staff when carrying metal near magnets, and keeping an eye on patients using closed-circuit television.
• Trains MRI technicians, students, and trainees, as well as orientation new hires.
• Instruction in MRI procedures for MRI Technologists I.
• In the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist, it may be necessary for you to supervise, evaluate, and train other MRI workers.
• Carry out any additional requisite tasks.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: There are none for this position.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
• Have two (2) years of Regular (twenty (20) hours or more per week) continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist and be fully proficient in all the duties required of an MRI Technologist II to the satisfaction of the department manager.
Education
• High School Diploma/GED.
License, Certification, Registration
• California Venipuncture Certificate (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
• CRT – California Radiologic Technologist License.
• BLS required.
Additional Requirements:
• Must have demonstrated proficiency in teaching other Technologists.
• May be required to direct, check and train other MRI employees.
• Must be fully proficient in MRI to the full satisfaction of the department manager and have knowledge of the required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
• Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- ARRT certification preferred.
- 2 years MRI experience, registry or registry eligible
