UFS Online Registration 2023-2024
UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATIONS
The online application must be completed by each potential student.
You will be given a student number once your online application has been submitted and processed (Reference number).
It is NOT implied that you have been accepted by the University of the Free State just because you have received a student number (Reference number).
Applications for candidates who are retaking Grade 12 courses will be handled using the most recent results. If you took Grade 12 more than once, you must submit your combined results together with your application.
The applicant must submit copies of their final Grade 11 report cards that have been officially stamped by their school.
While applying, students who are transferring from another university or tertiary institution must disclose their prior coursework and attach certified transcripts and degree certificates (where applicable)
The General Education Development (GED) test is not accepted by the University of the Free State for admission into any of its curricular undergraduate requirements.
Universities in South Africa (USA) no longer recognizes the GED, and it is not equivalent to a grade 12 (NSC/IEB/SACAI) in South Africa. It is encouraged that GED holders who want to pursue an undergraduate degree register for and successfully finish a grade 12 NSC/IEB/SACAI exam or an international equivalent.
